Former WBA world welterweight champion Vyacheslav Senchenko shared his opinion on the announcement of the fight for the status of absolute world champion in heavyweight between Alexander Usik (20-0, 14 KOs) and Tyson Fury (33 −0-1, 24 KOs).
“I was confident that this fight would take place, because this is an interesting fight for the audience, and for the boxers themselves. The fighters will have a chance to become absolute - and this is a good motivation to get into the ring. So I was confident that it was only a matter of time. I think the fight can take place, if not this year, then at the beginning of next year.
I think representatives of Saudi Arabia, with whom Usik recently signed a cooperation contract, were included in the negotiations. This was the main factor. Tyson could only be persuaded with a pleasant fee. Therefore, I think he is satisfied with the amount that he will receive after, and this was the main reason that he agreed,” Senchenko said.
