The European Boxing Union (EBU) supported maintaining the full package of sanctions against the Russians and Belarusians. The vice-president of the National League of Professional Boxing of Ukraine reported this on Facebook Alina Shaternikova.
“Among the working issues on the agenda was the item “Situation in Russia/Ukraine”.
My message to the members of the EBU Board was, as always, clear and understandable to everyone who respects the peace and security of the world: no compromises on boxers, coaches, judges from Russia and Belarus, maintaining the status quo, that is, boxers are excluded from the European rankings, nor One EBU title is not played on the territory of the aggressor countries; Russian and Belarusian judges licensed by the EBU are not invited to the competition.
EBU President Peter Stucki from Switzerland added that there can be no compromise on the issue of isolation of Russian and Belarusian athletes and functionaries while there is a war in Ukraine.
All members of the EBU Board of Directors unanimously supported maintaining the full package of sanctions. I thank the European boxing family for their unyielding position, you are the best,” Shaternikova wrote.
