Richardson Hitchins (17-0, 7 KOs) won by unanimous decision Jose Cepedo (37-4, 28 KOs) in the main event of the evening from Matchroom Boxing in Orlando, USA. After twelve rounds, the judges scored it 119-109 and twice 120-108.
The 25-year-old boxer identified all of his opponent's flaws and boxed very consistently in each round, focusing on defense and straight punches. This victory was the second this year for the super lightweight, who occupies high positions in the world rankings.
During the same evening Conor Benn (22-0, 14 KOs) returned to the ring and defeated Rodolfo Orozco (32-4-3, 24 KOs) by unanimous decision. For the Briton, this was the first performance after a year and a half break due to doping scandals.
Also in Orlando there was a welterweight unification fight between Jessica McCaskill (12-3-1, 5 KOs) and Sandy Ryan (6-1-1, 2 KOs). After ten rounds, the judges recorded a draw and both athletes retained their titles.
