Former interim WBO heavyweight champion Joe Joyce believes he has corrected his mistakes and will be able to defeat the Chinese veteran Zhang Zhilei in a rematch.
“My body and mind have been through a good training camp. I corrected many mistakes that I made in the previous camp. I'm ready to fight and eager to fight. I know I can beat him this time and that’s what I’m going to get into the ring for. After this I will return to my original position.
Zhilei is a crafty southpaw and is a very good counter-puncher. He let me know this when he actively aimed at my eye. It was a difficult evening. I took several powerful blows. I felt like I was starting to get into the fight when he was stopped. I felt like I could continue. I didn’t lose by getting knocked out,” Joyce told The Ring website.
