Luis Alberto Lopez (29-2, 16 KOs) won by unanimous decision. Joeta Gonzalez (26-4, 15 KOs) and defended the IBF world featherweight title. After twelve rounds, the judges scored it 116-112, 117-111 and 118-110.

The fight was fast-paced, both fighters were active, and Gonzalez had a lot of good chances. Lopez saved more energy for the final rounds, in which he secured the defense of his belt.

Thus, the Mexican defended his International Boxing Federation title for the second time. For Gonzalez, this was the third unsuccessful attempt to win the championship belt.
