Legendary American boxer Roy Jones confident that the unified world heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk would have been able to continue the fight if the referee had started counting the knockdown after the illegal blow Daniel Dubois in the fifth round.

“If it’s a low blow, then in any case, you need to give the fighter five minutes to recover. So, after five minutes of rest, Usyk returned and did his job, as the referee considered that the blow was illegal.

If it was a blow to the body, then Usyk would have stood up, because he would have known that if the referee opened the score, and he played this game, the referee would disqualify him. He would have risen because he would have known that he did not have time to play,” Jones said in the latest issue of the author’s YouTube channel.

Recall that on August 26, Usyk knocked out Dubois in the ninth round.
