Fedor Cherkashin (22-1, 14 KOs) commented on Saturday's defeat from Anahuel Ngmissenge at a boxing evening in Wroclaw in an interview with Polish Misja Sport. According to the 27-year-old athlete, his biggest problem in the ring was tactics.

“When nothing works out in the ring, you need to change something, but I didn’t. Chaos reigned in the corner too. Losing is very annoying. I was supposed to go on vacation to Italy, but I didn't. Inside, I feel much more pain than all these bruises, although I must say that I received a lot of words of support. I received many more messages than after any win, and I must admit that I was pleasantly surprised, ”said Cherkashin.

“We need to draw conclusions. I need to create my own team that will focus on my preparation. Before this fight, I trained with Oleksandr Usyk and it was a great experience, but my individual trainer was not there. I knew this, but I kept telling myself that I needed to win this fight and then build my own team. I believed that I could win,” added the boxer to KnockOut Promotions.

This year Cherkashin had two fights. In addition to the fight in Wroclaw, in April he performed at Las Vegas. The middleweight boxer would like to return to the ring later this year.

“I will talk to my promoter Andrzej Wasilewski and we will agree on a joint plan. I would like to fight later this year, maybe in Poland, and then come back to the USA. I do not deviate from my goals, but this will be a decision discussed together with the promoter, who has a lot of knowledge and experience in promoting boxers, including those who had to recover from defeats, ”concluded Cherkashin.
