Former World Champion Carl Froch (33-2, 24 KOs) believes that the ex-heavyweight title holder Anthony Joshua (25-3, 22 KOs) couldn't have matched heavyweight stars in the 80s or 90s.
“When I see how AJ lost to Andy Ruiz, and then suffered two defeats from Oleksandr Usyk, I just think, would they put him to fight Evander Holyfield? Or Mike Tyson or Lennox Lewis?
I feel that the opponents and the ability to take hits were better then. I don't think AJ belongs to that 80s or 90s era.
I don't think you can tell that he belongs to that era by looking at his defeats. He would have been there and fought, but he would have been smeared," Froch told Boxing Social.
