Atlas: Joshua-Wilder can end either way

Teddy Atlas, unlike many boxing analysts, is in no hurry to write off Anthony Joshua (26-3, 23 KOs) from the scores in a potential fight against Deontay Wilder (43-2-1, 42 KOs). However, the famous commentator still sees the American as the favorite of this duel, which could take place early next year.

“Wilder will go after Joshua from the start. He may not know how to box, but he can punch and he has a big heart. Joshua has it too,” Atlas said on his podcast. “Wilder has come up in previous fights, as has Joshua, but he was horribly defeated by Fury in his last two fights and I don’t know what’s left of him.”

“I think Wilder still has a stronger jaw than Joshua. He will strike the decisive blow first, and that will be the end. On the other hand, he can also run into something, because Joshua knows how to work on counterattacks. His style is counter-attacking, not aggressive, and he can catch Wilder with anything. Or Wilder will catch Joshua. It could end either way, but in the end I would bet on Wilder," Atlas added.
