Former Unified World Heavyweight Champion Andy Ruiz Jr. offered himself as a substitute for an opponent for Anthony Joshua, who next Saturday, August 12, at the London O2 Arena was supposed to fight with Dillian Whyte. White failed a doping test and show promoter Eddie Hearn now has to urgently look for a replacement.
“We need this trilogy,” Ruiz tweeted the news that White had failed a doping test.
Previously, Joshua and Rius had already fought two fights. In the first of these, the Mexican-American inflicted the sensational first loss of his career on the Brit, but lost on points in a rematch.
Today, the desire to fight Joshua was also expressed by the Swede Otto Wallin.
