Promotional organization Top Rank terminated the contract with Esquivoy Falcao (30-1, 20 KOs), who lost on points in early July Vincenzo Gualtieri for the vacant IBF middleweight title.

In this fight, the Brazilian counted knockdowns twice. Falcao has been with Top Rank for nearly a decade and has boxed in Bob Arum's stable since his professional debut.

The Brazilian announced that he would file a protest against the referee's decision and the verdict of his fight in Germany. Falcao does not agree with one of the knockdowns and refereeing in some rounds.
