Eddie Hearn says he would like to see fight between IBF world heavyweight champion Jaem Opetai (22-0, 17 KOs) and by Richard Riakpo (16-0, 12 KOs) in Australia on August 23.

Promotional organization Matchroom, which had recently signed a contract with Opetaya, made an offer on this occasion to Boxxer, representing the interests of Riakpo, but this offer was not accepted, as Ben Shalom wanted to organize the fight in London.

“It is unlikely that there will be an agreement, everything will be decided at the tender. We are confident that this will happen and feel very confident ahead of the auction. We are ready to win the tender and fight in London, but we will probably fight it in Australia,” Hearn said.

In June, the IBF named Riakpo as a challenger to fight Opetaya. The 30-day voluntary negotiation period expired on Friday.
