Khizhnyak wins gold at European Games 2023

On the evening of July 1 in Krakow Alexander Khizhnyak in the final of the European Games 2023, he defeated Gabriel Veocic from Croatia ahead of schedule in the second round and won the gold medal in the weight category up to 80 kg. In addition to the medal, Khizhnyak also won one of the four Olympic licenses in his weight category of these competitions in Paris 2024. Khizhnyak's license became the only one for the Ukrainian team at these competitions.
