Saul Alvarez (59-2-2, 39 KOs) announced the signing of a three-fight contract with Premier Boxing Champions. The first fight under this deal will take place on September 16, when Canelo will face Jermall Charlo (32-0, 22 KOs).
Alvarez's WBA, WBO, IBF and WBC super middleweight titles will be at stake in the meeting. Charlo has so far held champion titles in two weight categories.
The next fights filling the contact between the Mexican and PBC will take place in May and September next year. Canelo's potential competitors include David Benavidez. In recent years, Canelo has mainly collaborated with the promotional organization Matchroom Boxing.
