But boxing at the Olympics, at least in the short term, remains. The IOC has withdrawn its license from the IBA, but has announced that boxing will definitely be included in the Olympic tournaments in Paris (2024) and Los Angeles (2028).
The result of the vote to exclude the IBA from the Olympic movement: 69 votes in favor, 1 against, 10 abstentions.
“We never had any problems with boxing as a sport. Against. We greatly value boxing and believe that boxers fully deserve to be governed by an international federation that is fair and transparent,” said Thomas Bach, President of the IOC.
