Negotiations began on organizing a battle between Saul Alvarez (59-2-2, 39 KOs) and WBC world middleweight champion Jermall Charlo (32-0, 22 KOs). American - second after Badu Jack a possible opponent that Canelo could face in his next ring appearance.
Negotiations for this fight were held last year, but then the Mexican chose a fight with Dmitry Bivol. Charlo hasn't boxed in two years.
The fight could take place in September and Team Alvarez met with Al Haymon a few days ago about it, but it seems that Canelo is currently closer to meeting Badu Jack. A possible victory over the representative of Sweden would allow the boxer from Mexico to win the championship belt in his fifth weight category.
