Lopez: 'The only way to get me back is a nine-figure amount'

WBO junior welterweight champion Teofimo Lopez (19-1, 13 KOs) said that he could change his mind about ending his career.

“I think the only way to get Theo back is with a nine-figure contract. Because I made over $100 million for ESPN.

I'm still getting paid a million dollars a fight, while all these other fighters haven't even done a quarter of what I've achieved in the sport, but they're getting $8 million, $10 million, $12 million, $15 million.

So obviously I'm the black sheep of this industry and they really hurt me. I really want to change the world of boxing and overcome the corruption that exists in it,” Lopez told Boxing Scene.

Recall that 25-year-old Teofimo announced his retirement after defeating former undisputed world champion Josh Taylor (19-1, 13 KOs).
