Former UFC Middleweight Champion Chris Weidman stated that he is not parting with the desire to regain the title.

“I had to go through a lot, and now I’m not returning to have one fight and end there. I have serious plans. I want to show a dominating performance in the upcoming fight and then again in November to fight in New York. I will just go up in the rankings and get a title shot.

I like champion Israel Adesanya. My goal is to get to the fight with him. It won't be easy, but I will be disciplined and work hard to get there," Weidman was quoted as saying by MMA Junkie.

Recall that on August 19 at UFC 292, Weidman will return to the octagon after two years of inactivity. His opponent will be Brad Tavares.
