On Saturday Chris Billam-Smith (18-1, 12 KOs) won Lawrence Okoli and won the WBO cruiserweight title. The Bournemouth boxer is already planning his future and defending his championship belt.

“I fulfilled my dream of fighting at a stadium in my city. My next dream is Las Vegas, although there is currently no well-known fighter in this weight category in the USA, ”said the Englishman.

“Some time ago, Canelo said he wanted to try his hand at cruiserweight. Our fight in Vegas would have made a lot of sense and would have attracted a lot of fans. It would be another dream come true,” added the champion of the World Boxing Organization.

In the meantime, Billam-Smith is waiting for a rematch with Okoli, who guaranteed himself such an opportunity in the contract for the first fight. Their second fight will take place in the fall.

“Our rematch definitely makes sense. The first fight was chaotic, sometimes ugly, but exciting. I expected him to want a rematch," Billam-Smith added.
