Oscar Valdes (31-1, 23 KOs) last Saturday on the undercard of the fight Lomachenko vs. Haney successfully returned from the first loss of his career. And now the Mexican wants to challenge the WBO featherweight belt.

Valdez met with Adam Lopez (16-5, 6 KOs). The slippery opponent did not stand still for a second, but he also boxed well on counterattacks, so the transition to a new weight category for the former world champion in two weight categories was not easy. At the very end, in the tenth round, the favorite hit well several times and consolidated his success at the end of the meeting. As a result, the judges counted 97-93, 98-92 and 98-91 in his favor.

The next target for Valdez is Emanuel Navarrete (37-1, 31 KOs), current WBO champion in the weight category up to 59 kg.

“I have a lot of respect for Navarrete, he is a real champion, but I really want this fight. And not only me, the whole world would like to see it. So let's make this fight for the fans," Valdez said.
