Information has been officially confirmed that on July 8 in the USA there will be a fight for the regular WBA welterweight belt between Virgil Ortiz (19-0, 19 KOs) and Eimantas Stanionis (14-0, 9 KOs). The American received a green light from doctors after recent health problems.

Initially, this event was scheduled for mid-March, and then for the last weekend of April, but health problems for both boxers forced the organizers to postpone the date of the fight several times. The tender to organize this duel was won by Golden Boy Promotions. The winning bid was $2.3 million.

Thus, the Lithuanian will earn $1.7 million for this fight. Ortiz's fee will be $575,000 from the tender pool section. The event will be broadcast live on the DAZN streaming service.
