Matchroom wins bid for WBO eliminator

Promotional organization Matchroom Boxing won a tender to organize an eliminator for the title of WBO world champion in super lightweight between Liam Paro (23-0, 14 KOs) and Arnold Barbosa (28-0, 10 KOs).

The winning bid was $303,000. Top Rank also entered the call for proposals, offering $271,000.

The fight is tentatively scheduled for June 17 in Las Vegas or July 15 in Detroit. The winner will become the official contender for the title held by Josh Taylor, who will face Teofimo Lopez in June.
