June will mark two years since the last fight of the WBC world middleweight champion Jermalla Charlo (32-0, 22 KOs). Despite the long inactivity, the American will not lose his title in the near future, which, after meeting the boxer, the head of the World Boxing Council, Mauricio Suleiman, assured.

ā€œIt was a great meeting. Charlo is having difficult personal problems right now. He thanked us for the support we are giving him. He is our champion and he is moving on,ā€ Suleiman said.

The top three boxers in the current WBC middleweight contenders are Gennady Golovkin, Jaime Mungia and Sergey Derevyanchenko. The WBC also has its own "interim" champion - Carlos Adames.
