Bivol's manager: 'Dmitry wants to fight for Canelo's super middleweight titles'

Vadim Kornilov, WBA light heavyweight champion manager Dmitry Bivol, claims that his ward is ready to have a rematch with the absolute world champion in the second middle division Saul Alvarez in someone else's weight category.

“Now Canelo is telling reporters that he wants to fight Bivol at light heavyweight. In general, this, in my opinion, will be a repetition of what happened in their previous fight. But Dimitri is ready to move down to super middleweight and fight Canelo there. He is certainly motivated to do so because of the titles Alvarez holds at 168 pounds.

At the same time, it gives Canelo a chance to do something new and perhaps gain an advantage or even a disadvantage in weight, since last time he said that this was not his weight category. If that was an excuse, then why fight at light heavyweight again? I think it makes more sense to do it in the Canelo division," Kornilov said in an interview with the iD Boxing YouTube channel.
