Michael Eifert (12-1, 4 KOs) won Jean Pascal (36-7-1, 20 KOs) by unanimous decision in the main event of the evening in Laval, Canada. After twelve rounds, the judges gave the victory to the German with a score of 118-110, 115-113 and 117-111.
This fight became the final eliminator for the IBF light heavyweight title. Eifert is now the official contender for Artur Beterbiev.
The 25-year-old boxer from Germany was more active, faster and more productive throughout the fight. Returning after a break of almost a year, Pascal relied mainly on strong single shots and could not keep up with his invariably slippery rival.
Before the fight, 40-year-old Pascal was considered a clear favorite 7 to 1.
