Davis and Garcia held their debut press conference

On April 22, the long-awaited battle took place between Gervonta Davis (28-0, 26 KOs) and Ryan Garcia (23-0, 19 KOs). Today, Davis and Garcia took part in the debut press conference, to which Tank was almost two hours late. Some details of the contract they concluded also began to emerge. Negotiations on this fight lasted a very long time, because the parties needed to discuss all the smallest details.

The fight will take place in the intermediate limit of 61.7 kilograms (136 pounds). But the next day, the competitors will have a second weigh-in, and a few hours before the fight they will not have to exceed the limit of 66.2 kg (146 pounds).

The fight will take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Although there will be no championship belt at stake, the fight is scheduled for twelve rounds.

“Look how unprofessional this guy is. More than an hour has passed and he still hasn't come. We must rush to promote this fight, so why isn't he here?" Garcia commented on the lateness of his opponent.

“Boxing needs to go back to the days when the best fought each other. And this is the fight of the year. He will be smaller and slower than me. I know it, and he knows it, that's why he avoided this meeting for so long. But no more excuses, I'll knock him out!" Garcia added.
