Eddie Hearn expects the WBC to set deadlines for negotiations to organize a fight for the world light heavyweight title between Callum Smith (29-1, 21 KOs) and Artur Beterbiev (19-0, 19 KOs).

The Briton is the official contender for the World Boxing Council belt, which belongs to the Russian. Bob Arum would like to organize this fight in Canada in June.

Smith was scheduled to fight Pavel Stepin next week at Matchroom Boxing in Liverpool, but the duel was canceled due to the Brit's injury.
