WBO officially calls for Taylor-Lopez fight

WBO ordered to start negotiations on organizing a fight between the world champion in super lightweight Josh Taylor (19-0, 13 KOs) and Teofimo Lopez (18-1, 13 KOs). The boxers' representatives have until February 24 to reach an agreement.

In recent days, information has appeared in the media that the American and the Scot have already agreed on the terms of their fight. Their meeting is scheduled for May 27 or June 3 at the Easter Road stadium in Edinburgh. This will be Lopez's first professional performance outside of the United States.

In recent months, Taylor was scheduled to rematch with Jack Catterall, but the fight was postponed several times. In his last professional performance, Lopez won on points against Sandor Martin.
