Promotional organization Top Rank plans to organize a bout between the former unified world lightweight champion Teofimo Lopez (18-1, 13 KOs) and former undisputed world champion in super lightweight Josh Taylor (19-0, 13 KOs). This was reported by ESPN columnist Mike Coppinger.
Contracts for this fight have not yet been signed, but it seems that there should be no problems with the completion of negotiations on it. The fight is expected to take place in May or June in Scotland.
In recent months, Taylor was scheduled to rematch with Jack Catterall, but the fight was postponed several times. Lopez won on points against Sandor Martin in his last professional appearance. Taylor's WBO super lightweight title will be at stake.
