WBO World Middleweight Champion Zhanibek Alimkhanuly (13-0, 8 KOs) is looking for big names in his weight limit. The new face of this division has recently become Jarrett Hurd (24-2, 16 KOs), former unified lighterweight champion.
I recently challenged a boxer from Kazakhstan Carlos Adames (22-1, 17 KOs), who owns the WBC belt, is still in a temporary variant, because Jermal Charlo, who has been inactive for almost twenty months, can still count on the favor of the leadership of the Council. Alimkhanuly claims that he will gladly accept an invitation to such a fight.
“You may not be very popular, you don’t even have a full belt, but you are brave and I respect that. I will fight with you with pleasure, this fight will be easier for me than any sparring," Alimkhanuly replied to Adames' offer.
“I want to become a world champion and, like in junior middleweight, unify the titles. Charlo, Golovkin and Alimkhanuly are on my wish list,” says Hurd, who will face Jose Armando Resendiz (13-1, 9 KOs) on March 4 in Ontario, USA.
