Previously, this fight was supposed to take place in mid-March, but Stanionios was hospitalized with appendicitis and the date was postponed. The tender to organize this duel was won by Golden Boy Promotions, whose bid was $2.3 million.
The Lithuanian will earn $1.7 million for this fight. Ortiz will be paid $575,000 of the total amount offered. The evening of boxing will be broadcast on the DAZN streaming service.
