Oliveira explains why he refused to compete at UFC 283

Former UFC Lightweight Champion Charles Oliveira explained why he turned down an offer to fight on January 21st at UFC 283 in Rio de Jaineiro.

“It makes no sense to take the fight with a thirst to fight and think not with your head, but with your heart. If I thought with my heart, I would definitely become a part of this card. I was offered a fight, and I really thought about it for a long time, but the timing will be convenient for me to fight in May, and then maybe at the end of the year for the title at a show in Sao Paulo. Let's do it”, — quotes the words of Oliveira MMA Fighting.

Recall that in October last year, Oliveira lost to Islam Makhachev by choke hold in a duel for the vacant title.
