Naoya Inoue (24-0, 21 KOs) will meet the WBC and WBO super bantamweight champion Stephen Fulton (21-0, 8 KOs) in May in Japan. According to boxing columnist Mike Coppinger, the financial terms of this fight have already been agreed.
Inoue, 29, recently officially vacated all of his bantamweight titles. The Japanese in a potential fight with the American will fight for the world champion belt in his fourth weight category.
In his last appearance in the ring, Fulton won on points against Daniel Roman. Inoue last fought in December, knocking out Paul Butler.
