Eddie Hearn said that this year he will again try to fight between Conor Benn (21-0, 14 KOs) and Chris Eubank Jr. (32-2, 23 KOs). This fight was supposed to take place in October, but Benn was caught using illegal drugs.
Benn received no official punishment and is under investigation by the British Anti-Doping Agency and the WBC. The last professional fight of 26-year-old Benn took place in April last year.
“Our patience is running out. If no decisions are made, Benn will simply return to the ring. He can do it even now. He hasn't fought in ten months, and we're talking about a situation that happened six months ago," Hearn said.
The head of Matchroom Boxing plans for Benn to return to the ring in the first half of this year. His clash with Eubank Jr. may take place in the fall.
