"Regular" WBA Lightweight Champion Gervonta "Tank" Davis (28-0, 26 KOs) retained his title by stopping the previously undefeated WBA super featherweight champion Hector Luis Garcia (16-1, 10 KOs) when the latter didn't make it to the ninth round of their Saturday night main event at the One Arena in Washington, DC.

The start of the fight, which was watched live by 19,731 people, turned out to be quite competitive, until Davis managed to noticeably shake Garcia in the eighth round. Between rounds, Hector Luis declared in his corner that he "can't see anything". At the time of the stoppage, Tank was leading 79-73 on two maps and 78-74 on the third.

After the fight, Garcia said that after hitting Davis, he stopped seeing with his right eye, and further plans to return to the second featherweight division, where he will remain the champion. On April 15 in Las Vegas, Tank will have a mega bout with Ryan "Kingry" Garcia in a catchweight up to 136 pounds.
