Ramadan, which will last from March 22 to April 21, will be the main obstacle for the duel between Vasily Lomachenko (17-2, 11 KOs) and undisputed lightweight champion Devin Haney (29-0, 14 KOs). And it looks like boxing fans will have to wait a bit for this fight.
It seems clear that Lomachenko and Haney will face each other in their next fight. Bob Arum, a promoter who works with both athletes, says he can easily work out the details, although the Ukrainian reportedly wants to delay the date of this meeting.
It's no secret that Haney has serious problems in order to keep within the limit of 61.2 kg, and he is seriously considering moving to the super lightweight category. And this is one of the main reasons why he wanted to fight before Ramadan. Lomachenko plans to demand a fight in May, which will make the task a little more difficult for the American.
Haney and Lomachenko won their last fights in October, defeating George Kambosos and Jamaine Ortiz, respectively.
