“Daniel has a swollen knee. We took an x-ray, the final results have not yet been received, but it looks like it could be a ligament injury. The first knockdown was after a blow, and Daniel was injured due to a fall. In the next two knockdowns, he was not even shocked. There is an injury, we just don't know how serious yet. We are waiting for the final diagnosis of specialists. We have a really strong team, and it doesn’t have to be an injury that will keep Daniel out of training for a long time,” said Shane McGuigan, coach of the “regular” WBA heavyweight champion.
It was previously planned that Daniel's next opponent would be someone with a big name in British boxing, like Chisora or White. However, injury and possible rehabilitation will be a deciding factor in choosing his next opponent.
