Arthur Beterbiev (18-0, 18 KOs), light heavyweight leader and unified WBC, IBF and WBO world champion, is ready to rematch his meetings in Olympic boxing with Oleksandr Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs), holder of IBF, WBA and WBO heavyweight belts.
During the London Olympics ten years ago, in the weight category up to 91 kg in the battle for reaching the quarterfinals, the Ukrainian won with a score of 17:13, although he was knocked down after hitting the body.
On January 28, in London, Beterbiev will hold a mandatory defense of the title of the World Boxing Organization. His opponent will be local boxer Anthony Yarde (23-2, 22 KOs). According to Beterbiev, after this fight he will be glad to gain a few kilograms and meet Usyk again.
“I would be very happy if we could have a rematch. I think I can give him a lot of trouble in terms of professional boxing. I will not say that I will beat him, but I will definitely give him a good and hard fight," Beterbiev said.
