Jaron Ennis (29-0, 27 KOs) and Karen Chukhadzhyan (21-1, 11 KOs) will fight for the interim IBF welterweight title on January 7 at the Premier Boxing Champions tournament in Washington.
25-year-old Ennis knocked out Custio Clayton in May and won the position of the official contender for the belt of the International Boxing Federation. Since Errol Spence, who is the full IBF champion, is assigned a mandatory defense of the WBC belt, the American will fight for the interim title.
Chukhadzhyan has been the owner of the IBF Intercontinental Belt since January. In his last two fights, the representative of Ukraine defeated Ryan Martin and Blake Minto.
