In a team Oleksandr Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs) believe that despite the IBF decision ordering the Ukrainian to defend the heavyweight belt with Filip Hrgovic (15-0, 12 KOs), they will be able to arrange a meeting with Tyson Fury (32-0-1, 23 KOs) early next year.
“At this stage, I believe that this decision will in no way affect the fight for the title of the absolute world champion,” Alexander Krasyuk, the promoter of the Ukrainian, said in an interview with Sky Sports.
"We still hope that our next fight will be for the undisputed title in the Middle East," Krasyuk added.
If the International Boxing Federation sticks to its position on the Usyk-Hrgovic fight, the Ukrainian champion will face a choice: fight Fury and give up the IBF belt, or fight Hrgovic, retaining all his titles.
