WBA calls for Baumgardner-Choi unification bout

WBA obliges world featherweight champion Hyun Mi Choi (20-0-1, 5 KOs) have a unification bout with Alicia Baumgardner (13-1, 7 KOs), the owner of the WBC, WBO and IBF championship belts.

The American has received the status of an official contender for the title of the World Boxing Association, and the boxing teams have 30 days to agree on the organization of the fight.

If it comes down to bidding, the total financial offer will be split 50/50. Baumgardner beat Michaela Mayer in her last pro appearance, and Choi defeated Vanessa Bradford.
