Shakur Stevenson (19-0, 9 KOs) and Isaac Cruz (24-2-1, 17 KOs) were selected to compete for the WBC lightweight title. The winner of this hypothetical bout will be the official challenger for Devin Haney, who, in addition to the World Boxing Council belt, also holds championship titles from three other organizations.
It is not known whether Stevenson's fight with Cruz will take place. On his way, most likely, there will be a conflict between promoters, because of which Cruz recently, among others, refused a duel with Ryan Garcia.
Stevenson was previously world featherweight and super featherweight champion. His potential fight with Cruz could be his official debut in the lightweight division.
