Oleksandr Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs) was named Boxer of the Year by the World Boxing Organization (WBO) at their annual convention in Puerto Rico.
Over the past twelve months, the Ukrainian has defeated Anthony Joshua twice and currently owns three heavyweight championship belts, including the WBO title. Usyk is going to return to the ring next spring.
During the congress, the term of office of the president of the organization, Francisco Valcarcel, who headed the WBO for 25 years, was also extended.
