Top lightweight UFC Islam Makhachev said that he intends to win an early victory in the upcoming fight for the vacant title with Charles Oliveira.

“I don’t consider this fight the biggest challenge of my career. Perhaps I beat fighters who had more skills in their arsenal. But he is a champion and feels that no one can stop him.

The last three or four opponents dropped Charles, but no one tried to fight him after that. No one tried to finish him on the ground, use ground and pound, so they couldn't stop him.

But I am not afraid of his jiu-jitsu, because I have excellent sambo and grappling skills, and in striking I will give him difficulties. I will drop him and finish him off,” Makhachev said in an interview with The National.

Oliveira vs. Makhachev will take place on October 22 at UFC 280 in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
