Seven-time world champion in Formula 1, Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton congratulated on his social networks Oleksandr Usyk with a victory over his compatriot Anthony Joshua. On the night of August 21, a rematch between Usyk and Joshua took place in Saudi Arabia. The victory was celebrated by a split decision by the Ukrainian, who defended the WBA, WBO and IBF championship titles.
“What a great fight! This guy is very humble and he is a real champion! Congratulations," wrote Hamilton on one of the social networks.
Hamilton also sent a message to Joshua, in which he supported the boxer after two defeats in a row: “Few people understand what hard work and self-sacrifice means. Very often, in our head and our soul, we throw ourselves incredible challenges. I am proud of you and how much effort you put in, be proud of you too. What matters is not how we fall, but how we rise. And you will rise again, brother. Keep your head up!"
After the fight, Oleksandr Usyk expressed his desire to have a unification fight with Tyson Fury. The undefeated heavyweight and WBC world champion accepted the challenge, but stated that the organizers would need “a hell of a lot of money” for this.
