Former Interim UFC Lightweight Champion Tony Ferguson his next fight will be in the welterweight category.

On September 10 at UFC 279, the American veteran will face Lee Jingliang.

“Didn’t Tony say who he would fight? We will tell you soon. Ah, it's already done. This is Lee Jinliang,” UFC President Dana White said at a press conference after UFC 278.

Recall that Ferguson is on a series of four defeats. In May, El Kukuy was brutally knocked out by Michael Chandler.

As for Jingliang, in July he defeated Muslim Salikhov by technical knockout.
