WBA, IBF, WBO heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk (19-0, 13 KOs) successfully defended his titles by defeating Anthony Joshua (24-2, 22 KOs) by split decision in the main event of the evening at King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Joshua showed off some fresh tricks he learned from new coach Robert Garcia. It took Usyk several rounds to adjust to his new old opponent. Joshua significantly improved his body attacks compared to the first fight, and Usyk became noticeably slower by the end of the fight. This allowed Joshua to dominate the ninth round.
