WBA, WBO and IBF world heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk published on social networks an appeal to his Ukrainian fans on the eve of the match with Anthony Joshua.
“My fight is for myself and for the country! I work every day and put in extra effort in every workout, I believe in what I do to go into the ring every time and give my all to win.
I box so that everyone who is nearby, who is sick, feels happy. I box for Ukraine and Ukrainians who defend their own and keep our common truth and freedom!
On August 20 in Jeddah, each of you will stand behind me in the duel against Anthony Joshua. I will feel your confidence and support!” Usyk wrote on Instagram.
The rematch between Usyk and Joshua will take place on August 20 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. In their first fight, held in September last year, the Ukrainian won by unanimous decision.
