Anthony Joshua (24-2, 22 KOs) believes that the first fight with Oleksandr Usyk (19-0, 13 KOs) he lost mainly for two reasons: firstly, he had a bad plan for the fight, and secondly, because his opponent was left-handed.

“I know it sounds funny, but I won’t lie — I didn’t want to knock him out then, I wanted to go all 12 rounds with him and prove to him that I can box as well as he can. However, I didn’t work hard enough in the camp to go the whole distance at this pace,” said AJ.

“Now I had to make adjustments to work with left-handers, because left-handers are a real nightmare! I swear, if Alexander wasn’t left-handed, I would have knocked him out in the first fight 100 percent!” the Briton said.

Anthony Joshua will have the opportunity to take revenge on Oleksandr Usyk this coming Saturday in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
