Former World Champion Amir Khan impressed by training Oleksandr Usyk in Dubai before the upcoming rematch with Anthony Joshua. Usyk will defend the IBF, WBA and WBO heavyweight titles against Joshua on August 20 in Saudi Arabia. In September last year, Usyk outboxed Joshua and took the unified heavyweight crown from him.
Based on recent photos, Usyk appears to have gained muscle mass for the fight.
“Yes, that's what he told me. He looks in great shape, he has become much bigger and bigger, Khan said in an interview with Talk Sport. “You know how some put on weight and look a little swollen, but he looks different. He looks strong, he seems to have gained weight well. He says that he has gained 15 kg in weight since the last fight. Will it slow him down? I don't think. I've seen him shadow box, I've seen his footwork, he looks very fast and he has great footwork."
“He is technical, his boxing IQ is, I think, the best in the world... and how accurate he is is what helps him win fights. What AJ should do is just jump on him early. AJ also has a puncher chance. When it comes to boxing, AJ is a good boxer, he is an Olympic champion, but Usyk is excellent in this regard. You can't beat him when it comes to tactics, technique or boxing skills... AJ will make a mistake if he tries to box again."
